i am aware that PETA is a hot topic right now on Buzznet and that the organization often has controversy surrounding it, but it still stands that PETA has also done a lot to help animals -- including using the power that they have as a large animal rights organization with a lot of supporters to hold companies responsible to a pledge to not test on animals. basically, PETA has resources that other organizations don't that allow them to make lists of this nature. AFA always considers what's best for animals, and so the links to the lists are on our page so that people can use them as a resource when they are deciding which companies to support. if lists compiled by PETA are what help someone to buy cruelty-free products instead of supporting the torture and killing of animals, then that's good, and the reason we have links to the lists.

hey how are you : )
Agh! Suave's bottles of shampoo and conditioner say they don't test on animals....which is it?
Oh, I see Kiastar67 has already mentioned PETA, thanks I-KEA! I don't support PETA by any means, I think they ae extremists who hurt the cause, not help it...but this list is helpful enough, I think that is Renuzit needs to be tested on animals, I don't need renuzit. I know they're never going to quit testing medications on animals, and medical things, because the benifits outweight the "sacrafice" as they say..and I'm not going to call them heartless monsters, of think of them as such for testing meds, but for things like air freshener, for god's sake, use flowers. same thing for makeup, (I use M.A.C and Mary Kay),perfumes, soaps, bleach, detergants, etc etc....things we could be making ourselves...easily, but then I get called extremist for even suggesting that maybey we could make soap, or milk a freaking cow.....(I'm from Alabama...there are cows here....)

Suave is distributed by Unilever, which has products tested on animals. Sometimes companies that test on animals have some lines or products that aren't. So some people who are against animal testing may choose to buy only the products that aren't involved in testing, and others may choose to not support any part of a company that tests on animals. Please, make informed choices when you are deciding what to support with your purchases. You can use these lists as a reference, and you can also always contact companies to find out about their animal testing policies. For companies that do test on animals, let them know that you don't support this -- you can write a letter or email or call a company to encourage them to stop testing on animals.

I thought that Bath and Body Works were on the list of companies that do test on animals? I heard from my friend Lillian (I know it's probably best to take news from the source, and this was a few years ago) that the FINAL products weren't tested on animals, but the ingredients they use to make the products do. I'd be really happy to be corrected, I just want to be sure that it's not just another corporation loop hole.
bath & body works has agreed to not fund or conduct any animal testing; however, this does not mean that all of their products are vegan because they may still contain ingredients dervived from animals. hope that helps :)
just fyi: you can always contact a company to find out what their policies are regarding animal testing, and if they do fund testing, let them know that you don't support cruelty towards animals.

Thanks so much for posting this! Animal testing is something that I am strongly against, it's absolutely disgusting what people do to research animals.
